OrdinalsBot, the leading provider of API solutions for building out the data layer of the BTC blockchain, announced its launch of TokenPay, an API that allows developers to create payment systems for Runes or BRC20 tokens.
TokenPay from OrdinalsBot enables builders to add utility to tokens, accept payment in tokens for on-chain activities including inscribing or minting ordinals, and pay for transaction fees on DEXs or other trading platforms. There is also potential to pay for real world products and services using specific cryptographic tokens. As the first platform to enable fungible bitcoin based tokens to be used as payment for on-chain activities, TokenPay opens up the platform to new users and use cases and makes it possible to use Bitcoin native tokens for any form of commerce.
“At OrdinalsBot, we’re constantly looking for new ways to expand our offerings and provide new features for our users,” shared Brian Laughlan, Co-founder of OrdinalsBot. “While Ordinals are still newer to Bitcoin, we’ve seen extensive growth and are excited to bring TokenPay onto our platform, expanding payment options to OrdinalsBot for a wider audience.”
The product launch comes shortly after the launch of OrdinalsBot’s token ($TRIO). TokenPay will enable $TRIO holders that use OrdinalsBot services to pay for inscriptions, mints or other activities executed on OrdinalsBot and at a discounted price compared to paying with BTC. Additionally, OrdinalsBot will launch Staking Rewards shortly after TokenPay, that allows users to stake their $TRIO to receive rewards in BTC and TRIO, allowing $TRIO users to receive rewards, discounts, and exclusive access to special mints.
Launched in 2023, OrdinalsBot continues expanding its platform through partnerships and new features as Ordinals gain traction on Bitcoin. TokenPay is one of several products launched this year from OrdinalsBot, and there is more to come in 2024.
$TRIO is the OrdinalsBot utility token for use within the OrdinalsBot ecosystem only, not an investment product. $TRIO is not available to U.S. persons. Please see ordinalsbot.com for more information.
