We are proud to share that Stiven Kerestegian has joined our team as Chief of Innovation and Design. Stiven brings a vast amount of experience building products and experiences for globally recognized brands such as Microsoft, LEGO, and IKEA, as he now looks to bring his vision to the realm of Bitcoin.
Having also founded CAOS, a Bitcoin-centered design consultancy firm, Stiven will be an integral part of JAN3’s continuous improvement and refinement process of AQUA. While AQUA has garnered very positive reception from both veteran and novice Bitcoin users since its launch, we see Stiven’s expertise working with mass scale products as a key part of our goal for AQUA to onboard the next billion users to Bitcoin.
With AQUA now surpassing 40,000 users across all operating systems, Stiven will oversee the UI/UX and design process moving forward, as we look to bring tools like Bitcoin and Tether USDt to millions of people worldwide in the coming years.
Stiven was born in Chile, but moved to the United States during his childhood, where he attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, majoring in Industrial and Product Design. He was also Director of Innovation & Strategy at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, having been based in that city for several years, as well as the co-founder of ChiloteShoes. He is a native Spanish and English speaker.
In his new role at JAN3, Stiven will focus especially on the AQUA wallet, aiming to elevate its design and functionality to a world-class level. AQUA is a non-custodial Bitcoin and stablecoin wallet designed to provide financial empowerment, particularly in Latin America and other developing regions.
Similar to other members of the JAN3 team, Stiven’s ties to Latin America are part of what drives him to transform AQUA into a ubiquitous piece of software that can bring real financial inclusion to those who need it most. His skills and eye for intricate design will be crucial to ensure AQUA rivals established TradFi apps when it comes to usability, utility, and user-friendliness.
